Green Orchard Recruitment are thrilled to be working with a well-established engineering business that’s investing in modernising its IT estate – moving away from traditional infrastructure and embracing cloud-first, serverless technologies.
They’re looking for an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join a small and capable internal team. It’s a great opportunity for someone with a broad technical skillset, especially if you’re coming from a support background and ready to take on more responsibility across infrastructure and 3rd line support.
You’ll be supporting a Wintel-based environment while helping to shape how IT services are delivered in the future. Alongside monitoring infrastructure and performing patching, updates and upgrades, you’ll also assist the IT Support Desk with escalations and configure end-user hardware in line with policy and compliance.
The team is looking for someone with a strong appreciation of user needs, a keen eye on security, and a proactive approach to improvement. Occasional travel to other sites may be required, and some flexibility outside of core hours will be needed from time to time for maintenance or upgrade activities.

- Comfortable managing networks: DNS, DHCP, VLANs, SD-WAN, 802.1X, routing
- Understanding of enterprise WiFi and BYOD/guest access
- Firewall configuration, vulnerability management, and threat detection
It would be great if you also have
