    Payroll & Office Administrator - Crediton

    Green Orchard Recruitment is delighted to be partnering with a small, independent accountancy practice in the heart of Crediton. Our client is known for its friendly and supportive working environment, and they are now seeking a motivated and professional individual to join their team in a varied Payroll, Reception and Administration role.

     

    This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to start or develop a career in payroll within a welcoming and close-knit team. The position offers a mix of front office and back office responsibilities, with full training provided on Sage Payroll and the potential for exam or qualification support. This is a full-time role with some flexibility on hours for the right candidate.

     

    What You’ll Do:

    • Support the processing of client payrolls, from sole traders to larger businesses of up to 400 staff

    • Learn how to work with weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payroll schedules using Sage

    • Provide professional reception cover two days per week, welcoming visitors and handling calls

    • Assist with general administrative tasks and client correspondence

    • Help the wider team with ad hoc duties as needed

     

    What Our Client is Looking For:

    • A friendly and approachable individual with a willingness to learn

    • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

    • Confidence using computers; prior Sage experience a bonus but not essential

    • An interest in developing a career in payroll or accountancy

    • A team player who enjoys helping others and providing great customer service

    Salary & Benefits:

    • Salary above National Minimum Wage, flexible depending on your skills and experience

    • Clear salary progression linked to development and contribution

    • Full-time hours: 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday, 09:00–17:00 (some flexibility considered)

    • 20 days annual leave plus bank holidays, increasing with service

    • Full training and exam/qualification support available
